150th Celebration of the Morris Island Lighthouse

Join Save the Light at Bowen’s Island Restaurant on Sunday afternoon, October 18th, for the 150th Morris Island Lighthouse Celebration at a Lowcountry birthday party!
 
The event will be a memorable afternoon of Lowcountry Boil, BBQ, live music and birthday cake to celebrate our favorite lighthouse. The winning 150th Celebration Art Contest winners will be revealed as well as the chance to vote on your favorite art submission! Tickets are limited and will be available for sale on our website shortly. 
 
If you miss the party or want to continue the celebrations, plan to meet Save the Light at Low Tide Brewing on Johns Island on Sunday, November 8th from 1 PM – 4 PM for their Charity Pint event. Save the Light has been selected as the November “Charity of the Month” in honor of the Morris Island Lighthouse’s 150th!

Annual Oyster Roast

Join us at Bowen’s Island on January 24th for the 2027 Save the Light Oyster Roast—an afternoon of oysters, live music, and Lowcountry favorites supporting the Morris Island Lighthouse. VIP guests enjoy early access with exclusive bites and drinks from 1–2 PM. Tickets are limited and sold out quickly last year!

5k Run & Half Marathon

Saturday, February 6, 2027

Join us on Folly Beach for the 2026 Save the Light Half Marathon & 5K—two USATF-certified races supporting the preservation of the Morris Island Lighthouse. Both courses start and finish near the Folly Beach Pier, with the Half Marathon as a run-only event and the 5K open to runners and walkers. Lace up, take in the shoreline, and help protect a Lowcountry landmark.
